Oath of Office

According to the Lex Iunia de Iusiurand, I swear the following oath:

I, Lucius Mauricius Procopious, do hereby solemnly swear to uphold the honor of Nova Roma, and to act always in the best interests of the people and the Senate of Nova Roma.

As a magistrate of Nova Roma, I, Lucius Mauricius Procopious, swear to honor the Gods and Goddesses of Rome in my public dealings, and to pursue the Roman Virtues in my public and private life.

I, Lucius Mauricius Procopious, swear to uphold and defend the Religio Romana as the State Religion of Nova Roma and swear never to act in a way that would threaten its status as the State Religion.

I, Lucius Mauricius Procopious, swear to protect and defend the Constitution of Nova Roma.

I, Lucius Mauricius Procopious, further swear to fulfill the obligations and responsibilities of the office of Propraetor America Boreoccidentalis to the best of my abilities.

On my honor as a Citizen of Nova Roma, and in the presence of the Gods and Goddesses of the Roman people and by their will and favor, do I accept the position of Propraetor America Boreoccidentalis and all the rights, privileges, obligations, and responsibilities attendant thereto.

The following edicta are enacted under the authority of the Propraetor of America Boreoccidentalis.

A. Provincial Edicta

i. A provinical website shall be created to contain provincial edicta and disemminate information to current and prospective cives.

ii. All edicta shall be numbered with the year and a sequential designation. (See above)

B. Designation of Regios: Henceforth the following macronational states

Geographic areas will be used to deliniate the regions of the Province of America Boreoccidentalis.

i. America Boreoccidentalis Major (Washington State)

ii. America Boreoccidentalis Minore (Oregon State)

iii. America Boreoccidentalis Orientalis (Idaho State)

C. Appointment of Staff (descriptions of staff positions and duties will follow in a separate edict)

The Province of America Boreoccidentalis hereby joins the Limes Cooperation. Participation includes but is not limited to:

i. Provincial infrastructure

ii. Development of common provincial administrative standards

iii. Organization of conferences and meetings

iv. Co-ordination of research projects of common interest

Provincial Edicta 2754-3

The following edict is enacted under the authority of the Propraetor America Boreoccidentalis:

It is with pleasure that Jullila Sempronia Magna is appointed Provincial Curator Araneae (Webmistress).

Livia Mauricia Sabina, as Provincial Scribe, has been fulfilling these duties previously and is released with thanks.

Provincial Edicta 2754-4

The following edict is enacted under the authority of the Propraetor America Boreoccidentalis:

Guidelines for the Sodalitas Munerum

I. In order to facilitate the development of Munera the following regulations are enacted concerning the individuals participating:

a. Participants must posses liability insurance
b. Participants must sign a waiver, dismissing any liability of the Province or Nova Roma.
c. Participants must have their weapons and armor checked, prior to combat, by a Doctore of the Sodalitas Munerum.
d. Participants must have medical insurance or coverage by their Macronation or employer (as in the case of members of the armed forces).
e. Prior to any Ludus Munera offerings to Mars and Apollo must be made for the safety of all participants.
